When can I download the Admit Cards for SPI Aurangabad Entrance Exam Scheduled in 2023?

The admit card for SPI Aurangabad entrance exam can be downloaded from SPI Aurangabad website at least a week before the entrance exam.

Where will be the Entrance Exam held in 2023?

The entrance is likely to be held at eight centers in Maharashtra. These centers are - Amaravati, Aurangabad, Kolhapur, Latur, Mumbai, Nagpur, Nasik and Pune .

Is the SPI Entrance Exam held on the Same Day and Date at All Centers?

Yes, from last two years ; ie. from 2021, the SPI Entrance exam is held on the same date at all exam centers across Maharashtra.

Are Girls Eligible to Join SPI Aurangabad?

SPI Aurangabad prepares candidates for NDA. As per the present norms, girls are eligible to join NDA. However, the decision regarding eligibility of girls for SPI Aurangabad is awaited. Girls can also apply for various entrance exams like CDS, AFCAT or for direct SSB Interview to join the armed forces of India while studying in the final year of graduation.

How to Download SPI Sample Papers from their Website?

SPI sample papers are not available on the Institute website.

I am not a Domicile of Maharashtra State. Can I join Services Preparatory Institute Aurangabad After 10th?

No. Only a student who is domicile of Maharashtra state can join this institute. It is a Maharashtra Government venture.

Can I join SPI Aurangabad if I Want to Join the Indian Air force?

Yes. National Defence Academy is a tri – services academy where cadets are trained for joining all the three services i.e. Army, Navy and Air force. While filling UPSC form on their website – UPSC online, a candidate has to indicate his choice of service. SPI take candidates willing to join any of the three services.

Besides UPSC NDA exam, does the Academy Prepare Candidates for any Other Service Academy also?

Yes, Union Public Services Commission conducts a common written exam for joining National Defence Academy (NDA) and Indian Naval Academy (NAVAC) twice in a year i.e. in the month of Apr and Sep. The UPSC examination being common for NDA and Indian Naval Academy, the SPI cadets have choice to join NDA or NAVAC. Cadets have also a choice to join Army or Navy through 10 + 2 Technical Entry Scheme (TES) after their 12th board results.

Is there any Reservation of Seats?

No. Admission to SPI Aurangabad is strictly based on merit. The final merit is based on the candidate’s performance in written exam followed by interview.

Is there any Relaxation in Age Criteria?

There is no relaxation in age because the age criteria has been decided keeping in view the minimum and maximum age limit for NDA exam. If a candidate’s age is more than the stipulated age by even one day, he is ineligible.

What is the Fees for Two Years Training?

SPI Aurangabad fees is very reasonable and all training at the institute is fully subsidized. For current year’s fees, you can contact the Institutes office. The SPI fees is considered to be very judicious keeping in view that it caters for the best grooming for NDA which includes good hostel, nutritious food, uniforms, library, sports facilities, academics, NDA exam and SSB Interview preparations.

Does the Institute give Preference to any Specific board i.e. CBSE / ICSE / State Board for the Admission?

No preference is given for any particular board. The Institute has students from all the three boards. However, once they join SPI, they are given admission in a reputed school affiliated to Central Board for Secondary Education. CBSE board is preferred because it suits the pattern of NDA exam conducted by UPSC New Delhi.

Is there any Prescribed book to Prepare for the Admission Test?

The Institute does not prescribe any specific books for entrance exams. The entrance exam has 10th class syllabus. Excelling in all subjects of 10th board exams can help a candidate in SPI entrance exam.

Is there Negative Marking in the Entrance Exam?

Till 2018, there was no negative marking for the entrance exam. However, as per the latest policy, there is a negative marking of 0.5 for each wrong answer

How many Candidates Appear for the Entrance Exam?

As per the last year's records, more than 14,000 candidates had filled form for the SPI entrance exam 2020. Keeping in view the increasing popularity and awareness about the Institute, the number of aspirants is expected to rise in the coming years.

How many Candidates are Called for the Interview?

There are no fixed guidelines, but as per the previous trend, first 300 candidates can get a call for SPI interview. Numbers can vary based on the decision by management.

When are the Results of Witten Exam Declared and what are the Probable Dates for Interview thereafter?

The results of written exam are normally declared within a week after conduct of entrance exam. The interviews are scheduled thereafter. Please refer SPI Aurangabad website for exact updates on the interview dates.

Are all Written Qualified Candidates Called for Interview together?

No. The interviews are spread over two to three days and are held in small batches of about 40 to 50 candidates per batch.

Where are the Interviews held?

The Interviews are held in Aurangabad and Pune.

Does a Candidate have to Appear for any Physical Test at the Time of the Interview?

No. Physical test is not conducted at the time of the interview. However, candidates must keep themselves physically fit by doing regular exercises to cope up with the routine at SPI after admission.

If my Age Permits, am I Eligible for Joining the Institute if I am Studying in Class 11?

It is not advisable because you will have to again reappear for 11th class and also in the past, there have been practical difficulties in obtaining transfer / migration certificates from CBSE authorities to allow a student to repeat 11th class.

If Selected shall I have to Stay in the Institute or can I Stay with my Parents or Guardians in Aurangabad?

If selected, you will have to compulsorily stay in the institute. The institute does not have any system of ‘day scholars’.

What are the Important highlights of ‘Code of Conduct’?

The ‘Code of Conduct’ is to imbibe, infuse and nurture various positive aspects in personality which include soldierly qualities, moral values, punctuality, discipline, physical fitness etc. SPI cadets have to strictly abide by the ‘Code of Conduct’. Use of mobiles /wireless electronic devices are not permitted. Ragging, in any form is strictly prohibited.
